This year’s World Fiddle Day Scartaglin Fiddle Recital ‘ Handed Down … Through the Airwaves’ will be presented by fiddle players Aoife Nic Chormaic and her husband Steve Larkin and their son Cuan
They have selected their choices from the Archives and it’s going to be a great occasion with the following musicians honoured
Willie O Connell, Sonny Riordan , Paddy Cronin, Julia Clifford , Mick Culloty,Seán Abeyta, Billy Clifford , Bridgie Kelliher, Denis Murphy , Seamus Ennis .
Aoife presents the Rolling Wave RTE Radio 1 programme every Sunday night at 9 pm .
She will follow in the footsteps of Seamus Ennis, Andrias O Gallachóir , Ciarán O MacMathuna, Pat Feeley and Peter Browne who all came from Radio Eireann to record in Scartaglin .
Tunes will be released soon for people to learn and play at the recital.
