The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) Concerts Department requires an experienced and enthusiastic Stage Manager to assist in the planning and operation of all technical, stage management and instrument transportation needs of the London Symphony Orchestra for all rehearsals, concerts, sessions and UK and overseas touring.

The role involves liaising with the LSO’s musicians, conductors and artists, preparing stage plans, managing the LSO’s casual crew, being responsible for the transportation and safety of the Orchestra’s instruments and driving the LSO’s truck and trailer to venues in London, the UK and abroad.

This role requires lifting and handling experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, willingness to work unsociable hours in the UK and abroad and for the individual to be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure. Although a clean HGV driving licence is preferred, full training will be provided for the right individual.

The Stage and Transport team comprises of two Stage Managers and one Operations Manager. The Stage Managers work as part of the Backstage Team (Personnel Managers, Librarian, Assistant Librarian, Stage & Transport Manager), which in turn is part of the Concerts Department.
