
Culture Night 2023 on RTÉ
RTÉ is set to celebrate the 18th Culture Night with live broadcasts from several regional venues on Friday 22nd September. The line-up includes the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Ye Vagabonds, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, Soulé, Chasing Abbey, The Murder Capital, Aby Coulibaly, Olesya Zdorovetska, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, and Nia Ní Bheirn.
The broadcasts will be available to watch on RTÉ One and listen on RTÉ RADIO 1, RTÉ 2FM, RTÉ lyric fm, and RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta. Additionally, there will be a special Culture Night rail of content on the RTÉ Player. All live broadcasts will be streamed on www.rte.ie from 7 pm to 11 pm.
RTÉ One will broadcast from Dunlewey, Donegal, with performances and special features. Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh will present the programme, which will include contributions from the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and guest artists. The programme will also highlight other Culture Night events across Ireland.
Seán Rocks will host the RTÉ Arena: Culture Night Special on RTÉ Radio 1, which will be broadcast live from The Glens Centre, Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim. The show will feature local artists, writers, and musicians.
RTÉ 2fm's broadcast, in collaboration with Wicklow County Council, will feature live performances at The Mermaid in Bray from 7 pm to 11 pm. This event is part of the new 'Culture Night Late' strand, with performances by Soulé, Chasing Abbey, Still Blue, and Aonair.
Lorcan Murray will host Classic Drive on RTÉ lyric fm, broadcasting from the Hunt Museum, Limerick, from 4 pm to 7 pm. This programme will provide insights into Limerick's cultural offerings and include interviews with local artists.
Paul Herriott will present a segment on RTÉ lyric fm from 7 pm to 10 pm, focusing on the upcoming performance of Robert Valentine Lamb's "Conversations for Trombone, Violin and Orchestra."
On RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, programming will include interviews with local Gaeltacht artists discussing their work and the significance of Culture Night. There will also be a special Culture Night edition of Cuireadh chun Ceoil at 7 pm.
RTÉ Player will offer a range of content related to Culture Night, including features on Seamus Heaney's Bog Poems, Irish writer Pat Ingoldsby, Sinéad O'Connor Live At Vicar Street, and more.
