The Abbey Theatre is seeking two independent non-executive directors for its Board.

Vacancy 1 is for candidates with senior leadership experience in major projects or corporate roles, while Vacancy 2 requires expertise in acting or other theatre-making skills, such as directing or producing. Both positions require knowledge of the theatre sector, with Vacancy 2 also focusing on sustainability in theatre.

Board members attend quarterly meetings and additional strategy meetings in Dublin. The term is four years, with the possibility of renewal. The position is unpaid, but travel expenses are reimbursed. Induction and ongoing governance training will be provided.
