Sáoirse van Merkom is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Belfast, whose music resonates with raw honesty and evocative storytelling. A 2024 graduate of Queen’s University, Sáoirse has already captured attention with her deeply personal approach to song writing, weaving intricate harp melodies with narratives rooted in real-life experiences and unfiltered emotions.

Drawing from her background in Irish traditional music, classical influences, and indie folk, Sáoirse’s music defies categorization, creating a distinctive style that echoes with ethereal tones. Her debut EP, GRÁ—set to release on March 6th—delves wholeheartedly into melancholic and dream-like soundscapes. The artist believes that music should be immersive and intentional, offering listeners a space to connect, interpret, and feel.

Her music is not made for the background; it demands engagement. From the unearthly grip of Willow Tree Weeper, which transports listeners into a mystical daydream, to the personal, conversational quality of June Nr. 5, a beautifully executed harp ballad. Her airy, pure voice, often compared to Daughter, AURORA and Faye, brings an otherworldly dimension to her work. This is music that doesn’t just entertain—it resonates.

“I just want to connect with an audience willing to engage with my music,” Sáoirse says, "whether it’s a musical or emotional response, I don’t mind, as long as they take something away from the experience.”

Doors 7PM. BYOB.
