The Production Music Awards—celebrating exceptional production music libraries and Composers—today announces its 2023 call for entries, and details of its upgraded ceremony at new London venue Here at Outernet on November 20, 2023.

* The prestigious event hosts the finest of the production music industry from libraries, Composers, music rights and royalty companies and Music Supervisors.
* Celebrating the achievements of the growing production music industry, worth $1bn*.
* Now open to entries, categories span genres across Composition and Sync.

The Production Music Awards is a key platform that recognises the depth and quality of modern production music and provides global exposure to the wider sync and media industries. The growth of the UK-based event every year since its inception nine years ago is a reflection of this flourishing corner of the industry that is estimated to be worth $1bn+*.

For 2023, the Production Music Awards categories for entry are broadly split into Composition and Sync strands. The Composition strand has 15 genre-specific categories for production music tracks, plus the Best Wildcard Track and a highly-contested Best Newcomer award that has previously been won by AdELA (West One Music Group), Shashwat ‘Sha’ Sachdev (Extreme Music) and Amy McKnight (Universal Production Music) among others. The Sync strand highlights the Best Use of Production Music across platforms including television (drama, factual, trailer and advertising), sports promo, film trailer, and digital/online advertising.

The deadline for entries is July 21, 2023, and will be judged by a panel of respected industry creatives.

Having sold out for the last three consecutive years, the prestigious event has boosted capacity for 2023. Tastemaker, radio and television presenter Huw Stephens will host the gathering of 350+ of the industry’s finest within the Here at Outernet venue, boasting a unique, immersive AV experience.

In addition to major and independent production music libraries vying for accolades, the event attracts a diverse audience of influential figures in the production music and sync industries, including libraries, media Composers, music rights and royalty organisations and Music Supervisors, coming together to celebrate excellence.

Richard Canavan, Founder of the Production Music Awards, says: “I’m looking forward to shining a spotlight on the creative talent that work so hard to bring quality music to TV, film, advertising, games and beyond.

“As we approach a decade since the inception of the Production Music Awards, it's heartening to see our industry healthily grow. I’m proud to be putting this event together in its new home this year and can’t wait to share what is going to be an unforgettable show.”

Sponsor Cadenzabox, adds: "The Cadenzabox team are proud to be sponsoring the Production Music Awards in London once again. It’s a pleasure to be involved in an event that celebrates the immense talent and success of many friends and clients in the production music industry.”

The 2022 Synchtank report, Communication Breakdown: Complexities and Solutions in Music Rights Clearance, recognises that the production music market has ‘grown substantially in the last 20 years, with particularly concentrated growth in the last decade’.

Within this report, *Midia Research analysis (Music sync market forecast: Production libraries raise the pitch, July 2022) suggests that the production music sector is estimated to be worth $1bn+ across recorded music and publishing and that during the pandemic production music libraries grew revenue.
