Helium Arts is seeking a motivated and highly organised individual to develop and support our Creative Health Hub Volunteer Programme. The role will allow the right candidate to be a part of the implementation and development of the programme taking place over multiple sites including Cork, Limerick, and Dublin. You will be a key team member, supporting the implementation of an innovative arts and health initiative, the first of its kind in Ireland. This is a great opportunity for an emerging cultural professional or healthcare administrator looking for a change of direction with an interest in arts and health and volunteer management. The role will be based in our Mullingar office with the possibility of working remotely. The hours are flexible but with a minimum commitment of two days per week.

What you will be doing:
– Recruit and Coordinate Volunteers:
– Update and monitor placements on volunteer recruitment sites
– Select and approve volunteers based on application
– Process suitable applicants and invite them to induction training
– Initiate proper protocols with regard to training and Garda Vetting
– Secure and confirm volunteer placement for each creative workshop
– Review and report on volunteer status with the team
– Complete weekly administration tasks in relation to:
– Team and stakeholder communications
– Governance of the programme including policy procedures
– Developing logistics by assisting with planning documents, schedules and sharing of information among the team
– Being trusted with responsibility and tasks

– Excellent interpersonal and effective organisational skills.
– Good time management and ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
– Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
– A strong interest in volunteering and the arts.
– A positive and active sense of team spirit, curiosity and drive.
– Good IT skills – Word and Excel in particular and some social media.
– Good problem solving abilities.
– Fluent English
– Ability to work independently and develop ideas through own initiative
– Willingness to ‘roll up sleeves’ and help where needed to ensure the project meets its goals
