Visiting Lecturer in Music - Jazz

The Music Department of Bowdoin College, Maine, is seeking candidates for a part-time, one-year, benefits-eligible position in music, with expertise in jazz performance, for the academic year 2020-2021. The successful candidate will direct approximately four small jazz ensembles per semester (depending on enrollment).

Applicants should have a master’s degree in jazz or a related field, expertise in jazz performance, exhibit strong communication skills, and be comfortable teaching a range of students with various musical skill levels and backgrounds. In their cover letter, candidates should also address their interest in working at a liberal arts college with undergraduates, majors as well as non-majors, at all levels of instruction.

Review of applications will begin on April 15, 2020 and continue until the position is filled.
