Máirtín O’Connor, Cathal Hayden and Seamie O’Dowd have been described as Irish Music’s own power trio. The last twenty years of this renowned trio of individually recognised figureheads of the Irish tradition has seen them tour worldwide both in their own right as well as alongside legendary guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, luminaries of Irish music Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill, and Ireland’s national folk powerhouse Christy Moore. If this musical powerhouse does not get you to your feet, nothing will.

Máirtín is one of the most consistently respected and best loved musicians ever to emerge from Ireland. As a soloist with the first Riverdance orchestra, through his work with De Dannan, Midnight Well and Skylark and also as a solo artist, he has quite simply gone where no Irish accordion player had gone before. A prolific writer of new material, Máirtín’s tunes can be heard on the recordings of many artists and at sessions throughout the world.

Cathal needs no introduction to anyone even remotely familiar with traditional Irish music. A multiple All-Ireland Championship winner, he achieved world-wide recognition as one of the founder members of Four Men and a Dog. He is one of Ireland’s top fiddlers, his solo banjo performances are quite simply show-stopping and he has been a highly influential musical touchstone for an emergent generation of traditional Irish musicians.

Seamie is long recognised as one of Irish music’s top guitarists, as can be confirmed by asking any other top Irish guitarist!! He toured the world during the late 90s and early 2000s with Sligo trad legends Dervish and went on from there to play with Liam O’Flynn, The Chieftains, Christy Moore and many others. His experience as a solo performer, session player, producer and multi-instrumentalist is legendary and he was nominated at the inaugural RTE Radio 1 Folk Awards of 2018 in the Best Musician category.
