Dr. Linley Hamilton Quintet

Thursday, 20 October 2022, 8.00pm

Dr. Linley Hamilton's musical career grows and grows each year. He has been to Moscow for the Garden Jazz Festival, London for the Jazz Festival , he has headlined the Cork Jazz Festival and played a big part in the Limerick Jazz Festival. He was half way to Yokohama for the Promenade Jazz Festival when his quintet had to turn back due to the Typhoon.

He has had two wonderfully successful albums released in the last four years, both achieving international recognition. His music is constantly being played on radio stations in Europe, Australia, The USA, Canada and South America.

Dr. Linley Hamilton now makes his Greystones debut for a major concert in the fabulous Whale Theatre venue. He will be accompanied by his stellar Quintet. As well as a great selection of tracks from his numerous albums, he is likely to play some new and original music from his forth coming album due out in April 2023. Dubbed "Ireland's Favourite Musician" Linley is one of Ireland's biggest supporters on the jazz scene. Through his weekly BBC Radio Ulster show Jazz World he gives airplay to a huge amount of Irish and Irish based jazz artists. You will see his name pop up on the credits of a never ending list of Irish albums over the last ten years and you will catch him supporting many young and up-and-coming artists in their live performances. All this without even mentioning that he is a Doctor of Music at the Ulster University, Derry.

This event is supported by the The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media through the Night-Time Economy Support Scheme 2022.

Thursday 20th October 2022 @ 8pm (doors 7pm). Tickets (€20) can be booked at www.whaletheatre.ie or call the booking office on 01 2010550.
