3 Saturdays: 3 Kinds of Music

Saturday, 12 September 2015, 11.00am

Two hours of classical, contemporary and Irish traditional music throughout the musuem with ConTempo & Friends. Family-friendly, free event presents ‘rising stars’ and some of Ireland’s well loved and respected musicians under one roof for 3 Saturdays in a row.

The second concert in this series brings us two wonderful fiddle players – Toner Quinn and Malachy Bourke – ho recently released a live duet album titled Live at the Steeple Sessions about which Late Junction on BBC Radio 3 commented: ‘That new Toner Quinn and Malachy Bourke fiddle record is so simple and so good… You’ll have to listen again if you missed it.’

Joining ConTempo, Toner and Malachy to round out the great morning of music will be saxophone player David Conway former alumni of The Galway Music Residency apprentice ensemble programme.
