The NYCNI Senior Choir will perform a programme that celebrates some of the finest living female composers of our time. The programme centres around American composer Elaine Hagenberg's new extended work "Illuminare", which, in the words of the composer "takes the us through a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion, but as Light gradually returns, hope is restored, illuminating our future and guiding us in peace." This work is also a showcase for NYCNI accompanist, Gail Evans, one of the finest accompanists in the UK and someone NYCNI is extremely proud to work with. The other composers in the programme will be Canadian, Sarah Quartel and British composers Kerry Andrew and Cecilia McDowall. This programme celebrates the wealth and quality of female talent who are writing for choirs and showcases some of their finest works and output that truly enrich the contemporary choral repertoire.
