The Arts Council is inviting applications for the Children and Young People’s Arts Residency scheme, which supports artists or arts organisations to spend an academic year in residence at higher-education institutions in Ireland that offer initial teacher education or qualifications in early childhood education and care.

The scheme is open to higher-education institutions that provide these courses and requires host institutions to apply in partnership with an artist or arts organisation. The residency aims to provide opportunities for artists to develop their skills in educational settings and collaborate with teaching staff to create arts initiatives for students. It also supports future teachers and educators in developing the skills to facilitate arts experiences.

The maximum funding awarded is €20,000, and the closing date for applications is 17:30 on Thursday, 3 April 2025.
