Know people? Love listening to and telling stories? Savvy about social media? Can you do it all in Irish? Then come join our BBC Gaeilge team. BBC Northern Ireland’s Irish language department, BBC Gaeilge broadcasts around 250 hours of original live and pre-recorded radio content across the year in the evening schedule on BBC Radio Ulster and Radio Foyle. This output is produced by the four-person in-house production team, of which you would be a key member. The flagship radio series, Blas is broadcast live Monday to Thursday at 7pm, Blas Ceoil is broadcast live on Friday evenings at 9.30pm, and Caschlár is live on Saturday evenings from 7-9pm.
We’re a multi-media team, commissioning and producing content for our BBC Gaeilge services on Radio, Digital and Television. This includes new digital assets for language learners, for post-primary exam students, and multi-genre content including vlogs and shortform features. We also commission and broadcast up to 25 hours of originated TV programming produced by the local independent production sector.
