Friday, 1 May 2020, 12.00pm

Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble is delighted to be able to offer three small commissions to emerging composers from Northern Ireland, funded by the PRS Foundation’s Talent Development Partnership. Composers without a large track record of professional performances of their works are encouraged to apply. We particularly welcome proposals from women composers.

Composers born or domiciled in Northern Ireland are eligible to apply. There is no age limit, however, this initiative is aimed at non-professionals and early-career composers. It is envisaged that commissioned pieces will be no longer than 6 minutes in duration.

We’re looking for duo or trio pieces written for any combination of the following instruments, but excluding piano:

• Flute (doubling picc. or alto)
• Bb Clarinet (doubling bass cl)
• Violin
• Cello

The deadline for the submission of proposals is Friday 1st May 2020 at 12 noon. Applicants will be informed by Friday 29th May 2020. The successful composers must be able to deliver the work before Friday 25th September 2020.
