You’ve watched the film in its original version and stunning 4K re-release. You've bought the album and danced at the screenings. Now, 40 years on from its original release, Playback bring you a live re-enactment of Talking Heads’ classic concert film Stop Making Sense. Floor lamp? Check. Big suit? Check. A tape they’d like to play? Check. Come, watch and dance the night away as the band blasts through classics like “Psycho Killer”, “Once in a Lifetime”, “Burning Down the House” and “This Must Be the Place”. After the last chord of "Crosseyed and Painless" has faded away, stay for encores selected from among Talking Heads' greatest hits. There's truly something for everyone!

Playback is an "album tribute" band. They cover classic albums in their entirety, then round out their sets with a selection of the artist's greatest hits. So far their repertoire includes Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde, David Bowie's glam statements Aladdin Sane and Diamond Dogs, and Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense. They've taken their "Still Don't Make No Sense" show all over the country, from Wicklow to Kilkenny to Galway; have headlined several Dublin Bowie Festival shows; and have performed in venues such as the Sugar Club, Opium and the Button Factory.

Friday/ Saturday 22nd/23rd November 2024 @ 8pm. Tickets (€25) can be booked at www.whaletheatre.ie or call the booking office on 01 2010550.
