Hertfordshire Festival of Music 2023
The Hertfordshire Festival of Music (HFoM) 2023, taking place from 9 to 16 June, presents a line-up of classical artists performing in various venues throughout the county town of Hertford. This year's festival explores the relationship between music and art, offering a programme of concerts, talks, and events.
Clarinettist Emma Johnson is the Principal Artist for the 2023 festival. She will perform alongside pianist Gregory Drott and will be sharing her expertise during a masterclass for young musicians at Queenswood School in Hatfield. Furthermore, Emma Johnson will participate in a conversation with Artistic Director James Francis Brown, discussing her musical experiences and perspectives.
The festival also features Katya Apekisheva, Gregory Drott, Jack Hancher, Hertford Chamber Choir, Manvinder Rattan, Rossetti Ensemble, Daniel Swain, Litsa Tunnah, William Whitehead, and ZRI. Pianist Katya Apekisheva and violinist Litsa Tunnah will make their festival debuts, while Royal Overseas League gold medal-winning guitarist Jack Hancher returns.
The Rossetti Ensemble is set to perform compositions by David Matthews and Festival Artistic Director James Francis Brown. Additionally, the Classical-Klezmer-Folk crossover ensemble ZRI will perform a genre-blending concert at McMullen's Brewery Courtyard.
