The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre (TSEAC) is an award-winning performance arts venue, that offers the opportunity to immerse in a diverse range of cultural experiences including, live music performances, cinema, comedy, and cultural events whilst also
working to develop the artistic talents of others through our range of workshops and thriving music school.
Steeped in Irish history, The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre’s unique and intimate performance space is regarded by many as ‘A hidden Gem’ in the Irish culture scene,offering the opportunity to fully experience every show in a way that maintains the historic culture and delivery of traditional folklore and storytelling, earning us the name ‘Ireland’s Biggest Little Arts Centre’.
A vibrant cultural hub of visual and performance art, education and more, The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre is a charity organisation funded by Fingal County Council and gratefully receive additional supports from the Arts Council of Ireland as well as donations from our members, friends, patrons and visitors, which we use to continue to enrich people’s lives through art, culture, education and creativity whilst commemorating the work and life of the late Séamus Ennis without whom, our stories would be lost.
About the Position:
The position is offered on a temporary contract to cover the current Director’s maternity leave. It is an essential requirement for the post that the post holder hold a full clean driving licence and have access to a car.
The Director of The Seamus Ennis Arts Centre will be accountable for the following:
I. Overall performance, management and day-to-day running of The Séamus Ennis
Arts Centre.
II. Lead on the delivery of the strategic plan for 2024-2028
III. Manage the annual budget in the most effective and efficient manner.
IV. Ensure the sustainability of The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre by securing funding and sponsorship for future events and activities.
V. Report to the Board on performance against the Strategic Plan, annual business plan and budget.
VI. Work with the Board, partners, and stakeholders on issues as and when they arise.
VII. Leadership and management of the staU of The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre.
VIII. Meet development targets as agreed with the Board
IX. Lead and manage the key functions in the organisation
X. Promote The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre amongst its partners, funders and other elevant bodies
The Director shall furthermore be responsible for:
I. Devising, developing and implementing multi–disciplinary artistic programmes for the use of the Centre within the agreed budget, in liaison with the Programming Manager
II. Ensuring that the property known as The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre is maintained in a fit condition within approved budgets and that a high standard of cleanliness and general repair is maintained
III. Ensure proper Insurance cover and Licences are all up to date
IV. Be informed and comply in a competent manner with all employment legislation
and regulations
V. Be informed and comply with all relevant Health and Safety legislation to include public and employees and ensure appropriate insurances etc.
VI. Maintain high ticket sales and revenue streams and identify new /additional sources of funds including philanthropic opportunities.
VII. Represent and promote The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre locally, nationally and internationally (as agreed with or as proposed by the Board of Directors).
VIII. Seek out and develop appropriate short and long term links with relevant Fingal and Greater Dublin organisations/individuals both locally and otherwise with a view to expanding the role and function of the Centre, to expand the audience
and drive revenue.
IX. Work collaboratively and effectively with other cultural organisations, including the Arts Council of Ireland.
X. To develop new and innovative/cost eUective marketing, promotional and advertising strategies to encourage the fullest use of the Séamus Ennis Arts Centre in all its forms.
XI. Continue to expand the audience data base, drive ticket sales and establish/perpetuate a working relationship between the audience members, the Director and the employees.
The role of Director of The Seamus Ennis Arts Centre requires the following

I. Strong understanding, insight and experience of the traditional arts and folk
music landscape at a strategic leadership level.
II. Strong leadership, people management and motivational skills
III. Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and networking skills
IV. The ability to develop sustainable, mutually beneficial and trusting relationships at senior level in key stakeholder organisations
V. Strong commercial acumen and sound business judgement
VI. Ability to lead and manage people in diverse disciplines, both within the organisation and with other external organisations.
