International Concert Series: Danish String Quartet
Renowned for its impeccable musicianship, sophisticated artistry, exquisite clarity of ensemble, and an unmatched ability to play as one, the Danish String Quartet make a welcome return to the NCH to perform a unique programme that pairs much-loved works by Schubert, including their own unique arrangement of the well-known Gretchen am Spinnrade or Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel contrasting it with more a contemporary work, in this case Rituals, by Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir which they premiered at Carnegie Hall earlier this year.
Today, the Quartet exude a palpable joy in music-making that has made them one of today’s most highly acclaimed and in-demand string quartets, performing sold-out concert halls around the world.
