The Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin will host a range of new music concerts and workshops as part of their New Music Days event, which runs across 23—25 November.

The Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin will host a range of new music concerts and workshops as part of their New Music Days event, which runs across 23—25 November.

On 23 November at 7.30 p.m., the Spatial Music Collective, a group of Dublin-based composers resident at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, will perform a concert of selected international works. On 24 November from 1.30pm to 4pm, Leonie Bluett and Maeve O’ Hara will host a clarinet and percussion workshop with composition students of the academy.

On Friday 25 November, Fintan Sutton and the RTÉ Vanbrugh Quartet will host an open rehearsal of Frank Corcoran’s Clarinet Quintet from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. This will be followed at 4.30pm. by the world premiere of the Clarinet Quintet, in addition to that of Corcoran’s Dark Song, for bass clarinet. Frank Corcoran will also participate in a pre-performance discussion of the new works.

All events will take place in the Kathleen Brennan Hall of the Royal Irish Academy of Music on Westland Row, and entry is free.
