Pierre Bensusan: New Album Tour

French-Algerian guitar player, singer and composer Pierre Bensusan returns to Ireland this November for a thirteen-date tour of new music from his tenth solo album Vividly which is being released this month.

Since his first album, Près de Paris, in 1975, Bensusan’s playing has earned him much acclaim, including the Grand Prix du Disque at the Montreux Festival in Switzerland for that debut album.

Lyrics on the new album, sung in French and English, are mostly by Bensusan’s wife, Doatea Cornu Bensusan.

In addition to citing influences such as Martin Carthy and Jimi Hendrix, Bensusan has mentioned Planxty as inspiration and attributes an element of his style to traditional Irish music.
