Networking Event for Film and TV Composers

IMRO will host a networking event for filmmakers and film and TV composers at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, on Wednesday, 31 October. The number of places is limited, and those wishing to attend should apply for tickets by emailing keith.johnson [at] imro.ie before Friday, 12 October. Applicants should indicate whether they are a composer or filmmaker when applying.

The event will include a seminar by the composer Derek Gleeson titled ‘How to Get the Best Score for Your Film’; a screening of the short film The Girl with the Mechanical Maiden followed by an interview with the composer Liam Bates and Foley artist Caoimhe Doyle; an interview with Jonathan Tester, Head of Creative at Bucks Music Group; and an interview with the composer Ciarán Hope conducted by Jonathan Grimes of the Contemporary Music Centre.

The event will be followed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra’s live screening of the Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho in the National Concert Hall’s main auditorium.
