Music Capital Scheme Deadline Approaches

The deadline for the Music Capital Scheme is approaching. Applications to the scheme, which funds the purchase of musical instruments and equipment, are due by Tuesday, 27 November.

The funding, administered by Music Network, is allocated in two streams.

Stream One supports the purchase, repair or maintenance of instruments in Irish organisations involved in amateur music performance. This includes community and youth groups as well as local authorities running music programmes. There is €97,000 available under this stream this year, and applicants must provide 25% of the cost of the instruments or equipment themselves.

Stream Two, open to musicians born or resident in Ireland, is intended to support the purchase of instruments for individual professional musicians. Instruments purchased through this stream, for which €47,000 is available, must be used regularly in Ireland for at least three years after the purchase date, though the musician may live abroad. The fund is intended to provide 50% of the price of an instrument.

See here for the complete guidelines.
