King’s Place in London have announced the schedule for the first three months of 2012 for their weekly night of new music and experimental performance, Out Hear, and it features an especially wide-range of artists and events, with a particular focus on world premieres and contemporary performance practice.

Performers due to visit include James Weeks’ vocal ensemble Exaudi, whose concert will feature music by amongst others Georges Aperghis, Aldo Clementi, Mauricio Kagel and a world premiere by Joanna Bailie; The Phil Minton Quartet of John Butcher, Minton, Roger Turner and Veryon Weston, who will perform improvisations based on Finnegans Wake; Daniel Biro with Harold Budd and Simon Fisher Turner celebrating the Fender Rhodes; and Zubin Kanga, who will perform new and recent piano music by Rolf Hind, Claudio Molitor, David Gorton, Michael Finnissy and Alex Pozniak.

In addition to these performers, Out Hear dedicates a night to Gabriel Prokofiev (grandson of Sergei) and his club night Nonclassical, in which Larry Goves and other ‘alt-classical’ musicians will perform, and also to Ensemble Bash, who will celebrate their twentieth anniversary with a programme of Steve Reich, Graham Fitkin and Stewart Copeland.

Concerts are at 8pm. every Monday evening, and begin on 16 January. Tickets are £9.50 and £12.50.
