A round-up of some upcoming concerts and festivals, including Scoil Cheoil na Botha, Carlow Folk Club, Imagine Trad Festival, Trí60 and the Liffey Banks Sessions.

Liffey Banks Sessions
Tonight, as part of Conor Byrne’s Liffey Banks Sessions at the Grand Social, Moya Brennan and Cormac De Barra (pictured) are back in Dublin, followed next week by The Alan Kelly Gang with Eddi Reader.

The Bothy Boy
If you’re a Bothy Band fan, don’t forget the documentary on Mícheál Ó Domhnaill on TG4 on Wednesday, and you may also be interested in the second installment of the experimental series Trí60 on Saturday in the National Concert Hall’s Kevin Barry Room as it features Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill, along with Steve Cooney, Montreal-based Chinese traditional pipa player Liu Fang and Belgian violinist Wouter Vandenabeele.

On Friday night, Carlow Folk Club, run by Dave Sheridan and Eimer Casey, hosts Danny O’Mahony (accordion), Cyril O Donoghue (guitar/ songs) and Ringo McDonagh (bodhrán) at Teach Dolmain.

Scoil Cheoil na Botha
Scoil Cheoil na Botha festival, in Scotstown, Co. Monaghan, will be officially launched on Friday 14 October in McCague’s bar by piper Eamonn Curran. Tutors and performers this year include: Tommy Peoples, Séamus Begley, Liam O’Connor, Seán McKeon, Dave Sheridan, Maurice Egan, Michelle Mulcahy, Jack Talty, Charles O’Connor and Alan Byrne.

Imagine Trad Festival
The following weekend, Edel Fox and the Kane sisters, Liz and Yvonne, as well as Mick and Aoife O’Brien are playing in Waterford on 21 October as part of the Imagine Trad Festival.
