Deadline for Music Capital Scheme

Music Network have announced the deadline for the next round of the Music Capital Scheme as Tuesday, 27 November at 5.30pm. The Music Capital Scheme, which is funded by the Department of the Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, offers financial support to musicians wishing to purchase intruments and equipment.

The scheme is split into two streams.

Stream 1 is intended to fund instrument banks for non-progressional groups such as brass bands, pipe bands, samba bands, traditional music groups, musical societies and also institutions such as venues or local authorities and youth organisations.

Stream 2 is designed to support the purchase of high quality instruments for indivudual performers playing professionally. Applicants intending to apply under this scheme are encouraged to submit an expression of interest form first, which is available from Music Network.

The Music Capital Scheme began as a pilot scheme, running from 2008 to 2010, when it was funded by the IRMA Trust. The funding for the scheme was continued by the Minister for the Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in 2011 and again this year.
