Composing for Games Networking Event and Course

Composing for Games Networking Event and Course

The Irish Music Rights Organisation host their first networking event since running the very first course in music composition for video games, with the second course taking place in June.

Games Music Ireland

The very first Composing for Games Module run by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and Games Music Ireland in conjunction with Windmill Lane Recording Studios took place last March. It generated enough interest that a second module will be run on 11 – 13 June. Taking place over three days, the module covers both the theory and history of game music as well as training in the practicalities of composition for the medium. It includes a compositional exercise brief which the participants will be mentored through by composer Mick Kiely.

Ahead of this second module, the participants of the first course, as well as anyone who may be interested in getting involved in game music composition are invited to attend a networking event tonight, Tuesday 29 May at the IMRO offices at Copyright House, Pembroke Row, Dublin 2. The event is free, and will focus around a panel discussion with developers and composers, with an opportunity to freely network and meet these same industry experts.

To reserve a place on either the Composing for Games Module or the Games Music Ireland Networking Event, email gamesmusicireland [at] gmail.com. The discussion event is free of charge, but the cost of the three-day course is €380.
