Béla Fleck and The Flecktones

The band has been performing since 1988, and has since won five Grammy Awards in a range of categories although their music primarily borrows from bluegrass, jazz and electric fusion.

Banjoist, composer and bandleader Béla Fleck has reconvened the original Béla Fleck & The Flecktones, who will be performing at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, on Tuesday, 17 January 2012 — one of only three European performances recently announced.

Their new album Rocket Science marks the first recording by the Flecktones in almost two decades, with pianist/harmonica player Howard Levy back in the fold alongside Fleck, bassist Victor Wooten, and percussionist/’drumitarist’ Roy ‘Futureman’ Wooten.

The band has been performing since 1988, and has since won five Grammy Awards in a range of categories although their music is primarily associated with bluegrass, jazz and electric fusion.

Tickets are priced €35 (€20 for students) with no booking fee through the National Concert Hall Box Office.
