SXSW, PIAS and Stereogum at 2018 Hard Working Class Heroes Conference

First round of delegates have been announced for annual showcase and conference.

First Music Contact has announced the first round of delegates who will attend the 2018 Hard Work Class Heroes Showcase and Conference taking place in Dublin on 27–29 September.  The list includes representatives from talent agencies, record labels, media company and festivals in the UK, Europe and the US

Among them is Casper Mills, Irish and UK artist booker at SXSW (South by Southwest). Nine Irish artists performed at the festival in 2018, some taking part in two Irish music showcases presented by Music from Ireland and Culture Ireland. Mills also spoke at last year’s HWCH conference.

Also participating for a successive year are Lisa Hresko of independent record label organisation A2IM, Oskar Strajn of Eurosonic Nooderslag festival, and Stereogum writer Ryan Leas. 

Other delegates announced for 2018 include: Sarah Casey, booking agent at United Talent Agency; Ciara George-Lynch, music booker at Reeperbahn festival; Javier Lopez, sales director for Midem; Will Larnach-Jones, operations and marketing manager of Iceland Airwaves festival; Anna Wester, A&R manager at PIAS; Daniel Horitz, A&R manager of the Lex Records label; Anton Teichmann, founder of Berlin-based management company and record label Mansions & Millions; and Rhys Bradley, head of Martian PR.

A networking event on the first night of the conference will provide an opportunity for artists and Irish industry representatives to meet the international delegates. 

The full line-up of artists and schedule is yet to be announced. Conference tickets cost €25; tickets for conference and live events cost €55.
