New Appointment at Music Generation

Liz Powell to take up new role to support Music Education Partnerships around the country.

Music Generation has announced the appointment of Liz Powell as Music Education Partnership (MEP) Support Manager.

This new role within Music Generation’s National Development Office will support the development of new and existing Partnerships. Last September, Music Generation announced nine new areas in which music education would be developed, bringing the total number to twenty-one.
 
Liz Powell is an arts manager and a music educator who has previously worked with Music Generation as Acting Music Development Officer in South Dublin. A music and maths graduate from University College Cork, she has over 25 years’ experience in arts management and music education. She was previously CEO of the Association of Irish Choirs and Irish Youth Choir. She also worked for a number of years as Acting Head of Literature and Acting Head of Arts Participation in the Arts Council, and as the Registrar of Aosdána.

As choral conductor and singing leader she has worked with a variety of choirs including Diva Voces, UL Choral Society and Glória, and she currently conducts the Mellow Tones female-voice choir in Cloughjordan.
