RDS Rising Stars Concert

Tuesday, 9 May 2017, 7.30pm

The next Rising Stars Concert will be taking place on Tuesday May 9, at 7.30pm in the RDS Concert Hall. This concert will feature music students from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, DIT Conservatory of Music & Drama and CIT Cork School of Music. We will be joined on the night by special guest Aoife Gibney (Soprano), winner of the RDS Music Bursary in 2016. Aoife is currently studying under Hedwig Fassbender on the Gesang Master in Frankfurt Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst. She has been a Britten-Pears Young Artist for two years running and will take up a position in an Opera Studio in Stuttgart next year.

The RDS Rising Stars Concerts showcase new talent in Irish classical music. This upcoming free concert is part of the RDS Foundation Arts Programme which provides a platform that supports the transition from student to emerging artist; encouraging the pursuit of a career in visual arts, craft or music.

See www.rds.ie/risingstars to reserve seats and view programme details. Entry to the event is FREE but booking is essential. Seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The RDS Members’ Club will be open for pre-show supper on the night from 5.30pm. To reserve a table please contact the RDS Members Bar directly on 01 6689244. Please note that a short reception will take place afterwards which is for RDS Members and invited guests only.
