Ensemble Dagda bring the best of music from the 17th century to vibrant life in the 21st century, using the evocative sounds of original instruments and a creative and playful interpretive approach. With a variety of sounds, the ensemble mixes passionately expressive baroque sonatas and merry dance movements for strings and harpsichord with some of the most moving sacred and secular works for soprano with violins and continuo, covering composers including Buxtehude, Purcell and Isabella Leonarda. Ensemble Dagda is comprised of young Irish musicians who have studied in countries including Finland, Germany, the Netherlands and the U.K. Different incarnations of the group have been invited to perform at the prestigious West Cork Chamber Music Festival and East Cork Early Music Festival. They have also given well received concerts in Cork, with focuses on works by women composers in the baroque period, and early Italian music.

The ensemble are Emma Power - soprano; Caitríona O’Mahony, Sarah Walsh - baroque violins; Norah O’Leary - baroque cello; Tom Ó Drisceoil – harpsichord.
