Culture Night at CMC: Jennifer Walshe presents Aisteach

The Contemporary Music Centre is proud to present excerpts of Aisteach, a fictional history of avant-garde music in Ireland. This is an exciting programme of new music with live performance, and will feature two screenings of the film AN GLÉACHT, as well as a short talk on the project by its creator, acclaimed Irish composer Jennifer Walshe.   

Programme: 

6pm: About Aisteach: In conversation with composer Jennifer Walshe  

7pm: Introduction to Aisteach + film screening of AN GLÉACHT

8pm: New Music by some of Ireland’s leading contemporary performers, inspired by the characters of Aisteach

9pm: Introduction to Aisteach + film screening of AN GLÉACHT.  

Culture Night is an annual all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts.  This year, it will take place on Friday 16th September 2016. On Culture Night, arts and cultural organisations and venues of all shapes and sizes, including the National Cultural Institutions, extend their opening hours to allow for increased access to the public.
