Achill International Harp Festival returns to Achill Island over October bank holiday weekend 27th - 30th October. Showcasing the finest exponents of contemporary harp playing representing various styles, genres and musical cultures from Ireland, Scotland, France and South America. Highlights include Diego Laverde Rojas (Colombia), Lune Bleue Trio (Brittany), Corrina Hewat (Scotland), The Henry Girls (Ireland), Anne Auffret (Brittany), Michelle Mulcahy (Ireland), Màiri & Brìdghe Chaimbeul (Scotland), Paul Dooley (Ireland).

The festival opens with a spotlight on Brittany - a specially commissioned Breton- Mayo collaboration, featuring Breton musicians Jean-Michel Veillon (flute/bombarde) Anne Auffret (vocals/harp), Clotilde Trouillaud (harp), Erwan Menguy (Breton pipes/binioù) and Erwan Berenguer (guitar) and Mayo musicians Laoise Kelly (harp), Julie Langan (fiddle), Diarmuid Gielty (fiddle) and Liam Dever (bagpipes). Also includes literary offerings from Brian Keenan and Kevin Toolis, dance from Liam Scanlon, a panel discussion about harping in Ireland, harp making workshops, master classes, Breton Festnoz-Céili and lots more on achillharpfestival.ie
