Role Responsibility
You’ll be reporting to the Communications Manager, BBC Proms, providing administrative support, co-ordinating pictures, filming and photography at Proms events for the duration of the Proms season and monitoring media for Proms coverage. You’ll be the first point of contact for telephone enquiries from the press and the public and will also handle routine enquiries by email and post. You will also help to co-ordinate filming requests and will liaise with other Proms departments such as TV and concerts, the Royal Albert Hall and other Proms venues, sending out passes and ensuring that crews are accompanied when necessary. You will maintain the database of Proms season images and deal with requests from the press by researching images and sending them out on request.

Are you the right candidate?
In addition to your experience in a busy office, you will need excellent planning and organising skills to be able to prioritise a variable workload methodically and systematically. You’ll be working with a wide range of people, so excellent communication skills, and the ability to take the appropriate action when dealing with enquiries is essential. You’ll be required to work independently as well as part of a team. An enthusiasm for live events and an interest in classical music is important, as well as a keen interest in publicity. You will also need sound experience of operating IT packages and systems including Word, Outlook, Excel, Photoshop or other photography software.
