Symphonic Waves Auditions

Symphonic Waves Auditions

Sunday, 17 February 2019, 11.00am

Symphonic Waves is set to expand with the addition of Brass, Woodwind & Percussion sections to the Orchestra. Our next audition day takes place on February 17th in Claregalway. We are inviting young musicians at grade 6 or higher, aged from 13 to 21 to come along and audition for conductor James Cavanagh.

We are currently looking for players of the following Instruments from counties Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Clare and Limerick:

Brass - French horn, trumpet, trombone, and tuba
Woodwind - Flute, oboe, clarinet and Bassoon
Percussion - Timpani and general percussion.

This is an exciting opportunity to play in a West of Ireland Orchestra with a highly accomplished membership & artistic team playing advanced repertoire. The orchestra was set up in 2017 as a project of Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture and holds monthly rehearsals and annual residential programmes, with performance opportunities throughout 2019 and 2020 and beyond. This is an exceptional opportunity made possible with subsidised funding from Galway 2020 – European Capital of Culture.

Auditions will be held on Sunday 17th February 2018 in Coláiste Bhaile Chláír, Claregalway. If you are interested in auditioning, please contact [email protected] / 091 874557 and tell us a bit about yourself.
