The San Francisco Symphony is seeking an Assistant Editor with a passion for words and music to join their Editorial team.

Reporting to the Editorial Director and working alongside a diverse team of editors and writers (internal and external), the ideal candidate is a team player who can effortlessly juggle multiple editing and writing projects that require a range of styles, lengths, and tones. He/She is an experienced editor and writer who brings to the table an advanced knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, and style guides; he/she is equally knowledgeable about classical music and musicians and the performing arts industry. The Assistant Editor will assist in ensuring the accuracy of organizational copy and messaging, and in doing so, helps maintain and reinforce storytelling and brand identity across a myriad of content channels. He/She will work and collaborate with all aspects of the organization, including editing and writing ad/sales copy, content on music and musicians, web content, and institutional news stories and copy.

The SF Symphony’s Editorial department is part of a fast-paced, high-volume, artistic environment. Those who are quick to learn and quick witted; classical music lovers and/or music makers; adept at editing and shaping accurate and engaging copy; creative and compelling storytellers; team players and thought leaders; curious, resourceful, and detail-orientated; and excel at communication and organization are encouraged to apply.
