The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) wishes to recruit a creative and skilled Web and Social Media Content Manager for a one-year contract. This is an exciting opportunity to manage the delivery of ITMA’s programme of themed digital Irish traditional music exhibitions in 2019 as well as social media campaigns.

Contract duration: Full-time, fixed-term contract, April 2019–March 2020. 

The post holder will schedule, co-ordinate and deliver a defined programme of themed digital exhibitions, blogs and news items on the ITMA website and be responsible for ITMA’s social media presence.  As well as using existing templates and processes, she/he will contribute new ideas and methodology, and ensure a consistent style and tone of voice for ITMA.  The post holder will work with the Director, ITMA digital content managers, IT staff, content researchers and consultants to deliver these exciting multimedia projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Project management of digital content publishing and social media campaigns from concept to publishing;
  • delivery of well-structured and high quality digital exhibitions and social media content to a defined schedule;
  • digital asset management for web publication & social media campaigns;
  • editing, proofreading, and quality control;
  • ensuring consistency in tone of voice and style;
  • liaison with content providers, IT staff and consultants.

Essential criteria:

  • Industry experience in web content management;
  • relevant third-level degree or industry standard qualification;
  • industry experience in using Adobe Creative Cloud apps and sound and video editing software;
  • industry experience in managing social media campaigns;
  • highly developed writing skills demonstrating a consistent style and tone of voice;
  • proofreading and editorial experience;
  • accuracy and attention to detail;
  • ability to work to deadlines;
  • problem solving and can-do attitude.

Desirable criteria: 

  • Third level degree in multimedia design, graphic design, visual communications or a related industry qualification;
  • knowledge of Irish traditional song, instrumental music and dance;
  • experience in using Craft CMS;
  • competence in Irish;
  • analytics and SEO.

While based primarily in Dublin, candidates should note that occasional off site work may be required.
