Welsh National Opera is currently seeking a Director of Artistic Administration to lead the development of the company’s artistic plans, as formulated by the Artistic Director, supporting the strategic direction of the organisation and deliver the highest quality artistic product within budget.

Reporting to the Managing Director, and working closely with the Artistic Director, the role will be part of the WNO Senior Management Team, with responsibility for overseeing the casting and contracting of artists and creative teams, scheduling and planning of the artistic programme and the Company Management function. The Director will work closely with the Youth and Community Department and Music Departments to oversee cross-organisational priorities such as the development of young talent.

The successful candidate will have significant and proven experience of operating at senior level within artistic administration, extensive knowledge of opera repertoire, significant knowledge of both UK and international directors and singers a track record and demonstrable experience in negotiating artistic contracts. The ideal candidate will also be an experienced leader with evidence of developing team members to their full potential and a proven ability in successfully managing people.
