Offaly County Council has now opened its application process for the Arts Acts Grants scheme 2017. Artists, arts organisations, schools, drama & musical groups, town bands, voluntary community groups (not festivals) are all eligible to apply.
The funding scheme is competitive and applicants are encouraged to ensure that proposed projects are innovative and ambitious, and provide maximum impact in the community with it objectives. With this in mind the Arts Act Grants 2017 are open to creative and cultural projects in the community.
Many great projects are funded through this scheme every year and in 2016, the scheme’s focus was the development of arts within the theme of the 1916 Centenary year. Some of these projects included an exhibition entitled 100 Years 100 Faces by Arts in Health organisation Anam Beo, Military Manoeuvres by Patricia Hurl, Birr Stage Guild’s production ‘Sowing the Wind’ while also supporting St Mary’s Youth Centre’s production of ‘The Wizard of Oz and The Club Sessions which recently saw Seámus Begley & Tim Edey perform in Tullamore.
