Baltimore Fiddle Fair 2018
Baltimore Fiddle Fair
10–13 May 2018
Baltimore, West Cork, Ireland
The Baltimore Fiddle Fair has built a loyal following of music fans from all over the world who return to the seaside village year after year. This year’s festival again features world-class national and international acts.
American acts include international superstar Rhiannon Giddens making her only Irish appearance of 2018; Californian siblings Brittany and Natalie Haas playing their first ever European show; folk sensation and multi-instrumentalist Sam Amidon; and, from New York, The Murphy Beds with Stephanie Coleman.
From UK there’s Manchester’s finest Dezi Donnelly & Michael McGoldrick, and Scottish rising star Ryan Young with Jen Butterworth. Scandinavia is represented by magical Swedish trio Ahlberg, Ek and Roswall, and the festival finishes with a rare Irish appearance by legendary Breton band Penoú Skoulm.
Top-class Irish acts include Belfast trio The Ulaid with Duke Special, Clare duo Elaine Hogan and Sheila Garry, Donegal duo Ciaran Tourish and Kevin Docherty, Cork-based multi-national conglomerate The Underskore Orchestra, and a very special Scots/Irish collaboration with Heidi Talbot, Brendán Begley, John McCusker and Paul Meehan.
These intimate concerts will be held in venues across Baltimore, including garden amphitheatres, small churches and cosy marquees. The Fiddle Fair will also include workshops, art exhibitions, album launches, boat trips, walks, talks and a plethora of sessions in and around the village.
