Garsinton Opera presents 'The Bartered Bride' by Bedřich Smetana
Heart-stopping love duets, thrilling choruses and lively dances are at the heart of this uplifting and joyous festival of folk culture. The story is of thwarted love and arranged marriage; Mařenka must use her charm and cunning to resist her father’s wishes and marry the man she loves. Natalya Romaniw (Eugene Onegin, 2016) returns as Mařenka with Paul Curran (Death in Venice, 2015) to direct and Jac van Steen (Pelléas et Mélisande, 2017) to conduct the Philharmonia Orchestra.
