The Arts Awards are Cavan Arts annual funding scheme which aims to support the ongoing development of the arts in the county. The Professional Development Awards are for artists.

About the Arts Awards
The Arts Awards are most suitable for individuals or organisations including festivals, communities, schools and educational organisations to support an arts event or project. Available funding is modest and applicants are encouraged to be mindful of this before preparing an application.

Selection Criteria: The process of selecting successful applicant individuals and organisations is competitive and selection decisions for the Arts Awards will be informed by the following criteria:

Level of experience.
Benefits to ongoing professional development of the individual or organisation.
Quality of the proposal.
Quality of the proposed project.
Potential impact of the project on the wider arts environment in County Cavan.

Closing date for receipt of completed applications for the Arts Awards is Thursday 26 January 2017.

Professional Development Awards
The Professional Development Awards for Artists will be open on Monday 16 January at a Registration and Information Session at Johnston Events Space, Farnham Centre, Farnham St, Cavan at 2.30pm. Mary Mc Auliffe, arts consultant will be available to advise on the development of a submission for the professional development award. It is advisable for artists considering applying to attend this Registration and Informaiton Session. Please forward an email with you intention to attend to Santina Burns santinaburns [at] cavancoco.ie on or before Thursday 12 January.   Application forms will be available after the 16 January. 

Closing Date for the Professional Development Awards is Friday 3 February 2017.
