Ardee Baroque
Ardee Baroque 2017 presents a mix of pure baroque music as well as music influenced by baroque in addition to a special guest lecture looking at traditional Irish music from the 1700s. We’re delighted that the Irish Baroque Orchestra is continuing its association with Ardee and returning this year with a programme which should attract a broad audience. Featuring one of Ireland’s leading sopranos, Sinead Campbell-Wallace will join the IBO for a selection of Handel arias including pieces from the Messiah. Music Generation Louth's Junior Strings and Chamber Groups will perform a programme of baroque works, while violinist Mairéad Hickey will give her a solo recital of baroque and traditional Irish pieces in the intimate surrounds of Hatch's Castle. The Festival will close with a piano and cello recital from Michael McHale and Brian O’Kane.
