Head of North Leeds Music Centre
ArtForms Music + Arts (www.artformsleeds.co.uk) supports learners in music and artistic activities throughout Leeds. Our music service provides tuition to 14,000 young people across the city, through a combination of school-based lessons, youth music groups and community music centres.
North Leeds Music Centre is one of a network of seven Music Centres across the city. Open on Saturday mornings at Allerton C of E Primary School, it provides instrumental/vocal ensembles and classes for adults and children in the area.
We are seeking to recruit an applicant with:
– some experience of music education (not necessarily as a teacher)
– a strong commitment to engaging young people and adults in music
– ability to provide imaginative leadership in a community based activity
– proven administrative skills
– computer literacy
– ability to lead a team
– ability to manage a budget
The Music Centre currently opens on Saturdays from 9am – 1.15pm for 27 weeks of the year. The annual salary reflects the administrative hours required throughout the year, over and above the opening times of the Centre.
The range of work is broad and interesting and encompasses both development and organisational activities. Duties include managing the Centre’s programme, students and staff on Saturday mornings, and associated duties (administration, recruitment, promotion) at other times.
