Founded in 1882, the Royal College of Music (RCM) is a world-leading music conservatoire with a prestigious history and contemporary outlook. Our 800 undergraduate and postgraduate students come from over 60 countries and are taught in a dynamic environment, leaving the RCM students to become the outstanding performers, conductors and composers of the future. In 2016, the RCM was named by the QS World University Rankings as the top conservatoire in the UK and third in the world for the Performing Arts.

The RCM has over 180 keyboard instruments. The stock of Grand pianos consists mainly of Steinway & Sons instruments and the upright stock is predominantly Yamaha and Kawai pianos. The RCM has an extensive collection of early keyboard instruments including Harpsichords, Clavichords, Fortepianos, Virginals and Chamber Organs.

The RCM are looking to recruit a Senior Keyboard Technician to maintain a number of the grand piano and upright stock supporting the Head of Keyboard Technical Services in the tuning, maintenance and re-building of the rest of the keyboard stock including early keyboard instruments.

A formal keyboard tuning and repair qualification is essential. Training will be available for early keyboard tuning.
